Steven Tyler

Steven TylerAfter a brief stint in the Boston club circuit, under the tutelage of their manager at first, Frank Connelly, the band began to work together with New York managers Steve Leber and David Krebs. The band's debut album, named "Eponymous", was released in 1973. They signed a recording deal in the year 1972. It was followed in 1973 by Get Your Wings. Toys in the Attic. Rocks. and Draw the Line. These albums were instrumental in helping Aerosmith to gain fame internationally. The albums produced famous hits like "Dream On", Walk This Way, "Sweet Emotion" and "Walk This Way". Aerosmith's five first albums all had multi-platinum status. Toys in the Attic and Rocks were also multi-platinum. As the decade progressed however, the band's chaotic schedule of touring, recording and living together began to wear them down. Due to their famous use of heroin and stimulants, Tyler and Perry were called the Toxic Twins. Aerosmith Behind the Music includes several videos that illustrate their bond. Tyler seemed more committed to Aerosmith and disliked Perry for his passive attitude. Perry, on the other hand, was envious of Tyler's prioritization of women in his life. The tension between Tyler, Perry, and their once-friendly girlfriends was key to the gradual decay of Aerosmith around 1980.
