Morgan Smith
Morgan Smith, a graduate of Columbia College and Mannes College of Music in The New York Philharmonic's Columbia University, was a Seattle Opera Young Artist (1999-2000). In 2001, he made his stage debut with Billy Budd as Donald. Smith, an established Seattle fan, has been featured in more than 12 productions, including Don Giovanni in the title part, Silvio and I Pagliacci in I Pagliacci as well Riccardo from I Puritani. He also played Peter Niles, in Mourning is Electra. Smith has a long-running career as a performer in concert venues. Smith was the first to make his Dallas Symphony debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion and as part of the San Antonio Symphony at the North American premiere for Detlef Glanert's orchestral interpretation of Brahms famous cycle Vier Praludien Und Ernste Gesange. The other repertoire for concerts includes Beethoven's Ninth Symphony; the Requiems composed by Brahms, Faure, Mozart and Durufle. Mass in C Minor from Mozart as well as the Mass in G Minor from Vaughan Williams; Bach's B Minor Mass as well as numerous cantatas as well as Weihnachts Oratorium; Handel's Messiah and L'Allegro in the form of Penseroso and the Moderato and Haydn's The Creation and Lord Nelson Mass.
